Chi Alpha ministries despite its name is not a sorority or fraternity. It is under the United States Mission Branch of the Assemblies of God and is open to students of all backgrounds. Their mission is to reconcile students to Jesus Christ, thereby transforming the university, the marketplace, and the world.
Briggs began his first encounter with XA when he attended a back to school cookout in the fall upon entering the University of Alabama. He and the campus missionary began an immediate friendship. Josh mentored and befriended Briggs and kindled a passion within him to do the same to other incoming students. During his time at the University of Alabama Briggs was able to do just that by building relationships with incoming students as well as hosting D-Groups (Disciple Groups) in his apartment. Also during his time with XA Briggs was able to take a month long mission trip to Africa during the summer with other XA members. It was on this trip that the Lord called him to the mission field.
Briggs will be moving to Conway, Arkansas to begin his eleven month internship with XA at the University of Central Arkansas. Like all other missionaries he is responsible for raising all of his support. After the internship he will be placed to a campus (hopefully the University of Alabama) to begin his career as a full time campus missionary. He would like to thank all of those who have already supported him, as well as his church, Sulligent First Assembly who has been such an encouragement to him. If you would like to be a part of XA by supporting Briggs your help would be greatly appreciated. Please be in prayer for him as he embarks on this new journey.
Chi Alpha is on 316 campuses already and has approximately 28,000 members.
Everyone isn't called to the nations. Some are called to: Families, Neighbors, Cities, Counties, states, regions, reservations and yes to campuses.
